今月はアメリカのBaton Rougeからです。

Hello everyone !  I have worked almost 15 years for Albemarle Corporation in the USA. Throughout my career, I have had some very nice opportunities to live in the states of South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Louisiana. I have also been extremely fortunate to visit several wonderful places in Japan and will always cherish those memories spent with my colleagues and friends there.

Since 2013, my family and I moved to the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area so that I could work from Albemarle’s Process Development Center (PDC) site. The PDC is currently a focal point site for our Bromine Research and Technology Team. At the PDC, we have New Product Development, Applications and Customer Technical Service, Analytical Services, Process Development, Engineering and Process Reactive Hazard Analysis. About 2 years ago, we remodeled the buildings to have a very nice open design that maximizes opportunities for Collaboration. There are some images of a main common area at the PDC included below. I am very happy to have good discussions with my colleagues about science and also daily life events.

My Wife and I have 2 Sons that are now ages 11 and 9. We enjoy spending time in nature as a family. We often go hiking in the area around South Louisiana and Mississippi. The local area has cities such as Baton Rouge and New Orleans, but many rural areas and parks are available to enjoy nature. Although we are not native to Louisiana, we enjoy the local people, culture, and landscape. If any of my colleagues and friends from Japan are ever visiting Louisiana, I encourage you to contact me and perhaps I can help to show some of what this area has to offer (especially some local Cajun food).
